Sales Tax Holiday: May 25 – May 31

Starting May 25 through May 31, Virginia will have a sales tax holiday to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season.  Items such as batteries, flashlights, bottled water, and first aid kits will be exempt from the 5 percent Virginia sales tax.

A full list of items can be found on the Virginia’s Tax website . Visit the site and click on the “Sales Tax Holiday” link on the page.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Dave:
I’m curious about the ramp from the parkway extension on to Boudinot Road. The ramp appears to have been completed for well over two weeks but it has not yet been opened to traffic. Any idea when it will open?

  2. Joseph,
I’m checking on it now and will get back to you shortly.

  3. Joseph,
Just heard back from VDOT and this is what they said:
The rest of the loop opened on time – June 22, but the ramp from the southbound lanes of the parkway to Boudinot did not open because the retaining wall needed to be reinforced. It should open in early August, with no firm date because of rain etc.

Hope that helps! Feel free to email me at DelDAlbo@house.virginia.gov if you have any other questions.

    Dave
