West Springfield Dance Team Visits the General Assembly

Members of the team in the House Gallery

On March 8, Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn and I had to opportunity to introduce the West Springfield Dance Team to the House of Delegates, and honor them for their success this year on America’s Got Talent!  Because of their achievements, the House passed a Joint Resolution commending the West Springfield Dance Team. This group of high school students has attained tremendous success for their age, and I’m proud to have many of them as members of my district.

Over the summer, this group of 17 students, along with their coaches, competed on America’s Got Talent! Their unique style of dance, which incorporates elements of horror with hip-hop music, wowed the judges and audience, and carried the group all the way to the finals on the show.

Though they were sent home in the end, this team’s dedication and passion showed throughout their time on the show and each performance represented the high level of enthusiasm and talent that radiates in the team. I was honored to have them represent West Springfield High School and Fairfax County. Great job Spartans!
