Delegate Albo’s Amendment to HB 565

Last week the House debated HB 565, which would give the Virginia government the power to mandate that a charter school be built but would saddle the county with the costs of constructing the school. I am a fan of charter schools, but our tax dollars should be going to our existing schools, not new ones that we do not necessarily want. I proposed an amendment to ensure that the state would have to pay for the construction of the charter schools that it mandates to be built.
